If you’ve always wanted to give pottery a go but didn’t want to commit to a lengthy course, then this is the perfect class for you.

This 1.5 hour pottery session is ideal for those with zero experience who are keen to try out the potters wheel. In this 1-1 session, you will have my full attention as I guide you through the basics of wheel-throwing, where you will develop a sense of what it is like to be a potter and create some beautifully unique pieces of pottery.

At the end of the session, you can pick two items that you have made that will then be trimmed, glazed in my studio white glaze and fired for you to collect around 6 weeks later.

What you will learn: I will teach you the fundamentals of throwing on the potter's wheel, taking you through the process of how to center your clay, open it up, pull up the walls and show you options of how to shape your piece.

What you will make: Usually a small tumbler, vase, bowl or planter. This is an introductory session so please don’t get frustrated if you don’t walk away with a perfect shape, pottery takes practice so relax and have fun with it.

What should I bring: Please bring an apron or wear old clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, make sure your nails are short if possible and bring a bobble to tie your hair back.

Please note, this is a private 1-1 session held in my home garden studio in Prestwick, South Ayrshire.

If you have any questions, please contact me before booking, I'm more than happy to help.

    Great afternoon!

I had a 1 to 1 workshop today using the potters wheel for the first time. Yasmine was a great teacher - firstly with her demonstration and then explaining all the techniques again as I took over at the wheel. I was sure I'd never make a pot - but I managed 3 thanks to Yasmine. I'd recommend this as an ideal gift for a friend - or treat yourself, you'll love it!

    Loved it!

I was given a one to one pottery session with Yasmine as a gift and enjoyed every minute of it. I managed to successfully throw a couple of pots never having used a potters wheel before. Yasmine is a great teacher and an absolutely lovely person who has created a very relaxed atmosphere in her little workshop. Thank you so much.

This is the best wee workshop for beginners! Was pretty nervous to try something new but Yasmine couldn’t have been more helpful and trusting in the process. Such a privilege to learn from someone who loves their craft, Thank you! Would recommend for everyone to give it a go.

    1-2-1 workshop

I cannot recommend Yasmine’s workshop enough! I was a little nervous to try something new but Yasmine explained everything so well and was very patient and helpful throughout my session. I left feeling really good about the things I made and have already recommended her workshops to my friends. Highly recommend!
